This site has no forms, no accounts and no tracking. The only personal data I hold is whatever you choose to send me when you get in touch.
Who I am
Adrian Byrne. I run this site to find interim, fractional or permanent engineering leadership work, and for anything described here I am the data controller. Contact me at byrnsey.a@gmail.com.
What I collect
Only what you send me. If you email me, I hold that correspondence — your name, your email address, and whatever you write about the role and your organisation. If you message me on LinkedIn, the same applies there. The site itself asks for nothing: there is no enquiry form, no newsletter, no account and no payment.
Why, and on what legal basis
To reply to you, and to discuss and agree a role if we take it further. Under UK GDPR the bases are steps taken at your request before entering a contract, and my legitimate interest in finding and arranging work. I run no marketing lists and I never sell or share personal data.
Cookies and tracking
None. This site sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser, runs no analytics and carries no advertising. That is why there is no cookie banner — there is nothing to consent to. The fonts are served from this site rather than a font network, so loading a page makes no request to anyone else.
Who else handles it
Cloudflare hosts the site and keeps standard server logs, which include your IP address. Google provides the mailbox where I read and reply to your email. If you contact me through LinkedIn, Microsoft processes that message under its own terms. Each acts under its own data protection commitments, and some process data outside the UK under recognised safeguards such as adequacy decisions and standard contractual clauses.
How long I keep it
Enquiries are kept while they are live, and deleted once it is clear nothing will come of them. Where an enquiry leads to an engagement, I keep the correspondence for the life of that engagement and for as long afterwards as tax and record-keeping rules require.
Your rights
You can ask me for a copy of the personal data I hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to how it is used, or receive it in a portable format. Email byrnsey.a@gmail.com. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (opens in a new tab).
Changes
If this notice changes, the new version appears here with a new date. It stays this short on purpose.
